Survivor 3 Africa Displaces Local Bambuhu Tribe >>
Burnett Desperate for Location, Pays Government Officials
One of our workers dated a girl in college who went on to join the Peace Corps in Africa. Consequently, she brings us our tastiest lead yet. As you heard here first, the Bambuhu tribe has been relocated from one of their ancestral tribal camps to make room for S3. Apparently, a government team was to temporarily relocate them while shooting takes place. CBS paid government officials to ensure the tribe was amply provided for. However, according to our writer's girlfriend Julie, the money was pocketed by corrupt officials, leaving the tribe to live in squalor at a refugee camp . "These people don't want CBS's money. They have no use for it, they just want to hunt and live on the lands of their forefathers," says Julie, "Most of this territory is uninhabitable. Anyplace fertile enough to support 16 white people from Oklahoma is already taken. This is not right." We're trying to convince Julie to get us some pictures of the tribe, check back soon.
